Activities and Excursions

As well as being an interesting city in itself, Nottingham is a great starting point for exploring the the beauty and heritage of the Peak District, and there is a  variety of places to visit and landscapes to experience all within a hour’s drive of the centre.

The Anglo programme includes half-day visits to stunning Wollaton Park and the spa town of Buxton in the heart of the Peak District. At the weekend, we go a bit further afield and there are full-day excursions to York and Cambridge.

After 10 nights in Nottingham, you will be transferred to our London centre by private coach, and spend 2 days exploring the famous attractions in the nation’s capital. Travel into and around London is either by overland train or the Tube.

In the evenings, there’s the opportunity to participate in talent shows, find new friends in speed dating, play bingo, test your knowledge in the weekly quiz and show off your dance moves at the disco.

When in London, you will have dinner out and spend the evening in the city, returning to campus around 22:30.

Caring and Attentive Teachers and Staff

Our summer team have been selected for their experience in and suitability for working with young people.

Anglo centre mangers are responsible for ensuring the smooth-running of the programme and most have had many years of experience on summer courses.

Quite a few of our teaching staff have worked with us for several summers as well, and have been involved in developing the syllabus by contributing ideas they have tried and tested at centre.

We are also proud that many of our activity team are returners and that some move into management positions, using their experience to make the programme better and safer each year.
