SAFETY

#YOUMATTER | SAFETY

Keeping students, staff and group leaders safe is mission critical! Health and safety, safeguarding and security are top of the list.
We take careful steps to ensure everyone can enjoy their ANGLO experience in a safe, nurturing environment.
Here are some of the key measures we take:

CENTRES

Risk Assessments – we perform risk assessments of all our operating locations before any staff and students arrive. We ask our staff to check, update and monitor these risk assessments on arrival to ensure nothing has been overlooked. Individual staff members perform daily risk assessments at the start of activities/excursions.

Health and Safety – we work closely with the universities to consider fire procedures, emergency exits, building works, access to accommodation, campus security, among other elements.

STUDENTS

Safeguarding – to help keep our students safe we have carefully conceived safeguarding procedures as detailed in our Safeguarding & Prevent Policies document. ANGLO ensures students are correctly supervised in all parts of the programme, such as a 1:15 ratio in classes and workshops, and a 1:20 ratio during activities. (Further information can be found in our Student Supervision Statement.) Students receive safety information (including emergency contact details) on arrival in the form of a student card worn around their neck, and all staff and students perform a fire drill during their stay.

Students can also access the Student Hub; a website with information relevant to their centre: emergency contact numbers, campus map, campus rules, and more.

STAFF

All ANGLO staff complete mandatory Safeguarding training provided by the British Council. Our Activity Managers are the Designated Safeguarding Person (DSP) at each of our centres. There is a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) person at ANGLO Head Office who is available 24/7. Staff are trained on fire and emergency procedures when they arrive at centre and they pass this information on to students and group leaders.

THE ESSENCE OF ANGLO STUDY HOLIDAYS

Learn, practice and experience English differently.
Courses with dynamic lessons in the classroom, exciting workshops that challenge and engage,
and amazing excursions to make language learning an adventure.

LEARNING

Communicative, inspiring lessons with material for all CEFR levels, ANGLO classes are designed to build on the knowledge students bring with them, and mesh seamlessly with their stay in the UK.

WORKSHOPS

Carefully tailored sessions which typically start in the classroom for an introduction and language input, then generally students explore campus/the local area to gather information. Finally, the students present to their peers to show what they’ve learned.

EXCURSIONS

To put into practice all the English students have been learning you have to get out there. Excursions offer a chance to visit the places students have studied, practise their spoken English in a public setting, and explore awesome places.
